ISP issues causing large internet blackouts

Published on June 24th, 2019 by Duncan McClean.

Today, some ISPs had issues providing access to the internet.

Among the providers affected were Cloudflare, Google DNS and AT&T.

Cloudflare, a DNS provider used by many sites on the internet (including Iamlittle) blamed the issue on a DNS leak.

However, some Cloudflare users were able to bypass the errors by disabling the Cloudflare DNS proxy. The proxy is the thing that issues the SSL certificates, does caching, page rules etc.
