Google has chosen to block Chinese phone manufacturer, Huawei from receiving access to Google services, including the Google Play Store.

The move was prompted after the Trump Administration created a list of companies that American companies can't trade with, one of the companies on that list was Huawei.

Huawei have been under pressure from authorities all around the world after countries suspect that the Chinese government are using Huawei to spy on countries.

What happens if I already own a Huawei phone?

You will continue to be able to update all your apps, get security fixes and update Google services.

However, when Google announced the next version of the Android operating system, it won't be made available for Huawei phones.

What does the future look like for Huawei?

Future Huawei phones won't have access to Google apps, like the Play Store, YouYube or Google Maps.

They'll also have to run a 'lite' version of Android.

It'll also have massive implications for the company too, they won't have as many consumer customers around the world and parts for their phones are currently being bought in from the US, which will be stopped.
