Published in ChristmasReviews on Nov 18, 2017

Now more and more games are able to use VR. There are three main ones.

  • PlayStation VR headset
  • HTC Vive
  • Oculus Rift

This article is going to try and find out which one is best for you.

PlayStation VR

The PlayStation VR or Project Morpheus was released on the 13 of October 2016. Some types of games available are Star Trek bridge crew, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim and Fruit ninja VR. One issue with the PlayStation VR is that you have to buy more extra things, These include camera sensor and motion controls. You can also buy accessories such as a headstand or aim controller. Let's look at the stats.

HTC Vive

HTC Vive was released on the 5 April 2016. Unlike the PlayStation VR, this one uses Steam as a platform which means it has to be plugged into a computer to run. Some games are Raw Data, Eve Valkrie and Space pilot trainer. You can buy 2 different types of guns or a foam face mask. Now let's talk about the statistics.

  • Resolution: 2160×1200 (1080×1200 per eye)

Oculus Rift

Oculus Rift was released on March 28 2016. Games include Robo Recall, Eye: Valkyrie and The Climb. To set up you will need to download additional software and you need to create a Rift account. You can get touch controllers with it as a bundle.

  • Resolution: 2160 x 1200 (1080 x 1200 per eye)
  • Double Screen
  • Rating: 4.5 Stars

In conclusion, every system has Pro's and Cons but I'd have to say that the Oculus Rift is better even though it has the same specs as the HTC Vive the price is cheaper which makes a big difference. Also thought if you already have a PlayStation 4, get that VR headset but if you don't then get the Oculus Rift.
