WhatsApp Gold VIRUS circulating around millions of phones

January 4th, 2019 - Duncan McClean

A virus called WhatsApp Gold is populating phones of millions of smartphone users who use the WhatsApp software for communication.

WhatsApp Gold is a hoax message which is designed to trick WhatsApp users of installing a virus onto their devices.

WhatsApp Gold has been doing the rounds for years but has only just made a huge comeback. The original message from 2016 read, “Hey Finally Secret WhatsApp golden version has been leaked, This version is used only by big celebrities. Now we can use it too.”

The message tells users that they can download an app which will give them extra features on WhatsApp.

If you receive the hoax message you should ignore it and delete it straight away.

WhatsApp was bought over by social-networking site Facebook a few years back.
